Available Aid
The financial aid program at Â鶹ɫÇéƬ attempts to provide financial assistance to those students who, without such aid, would not be able to pursue higher education. The primary responsibility for financing an education rests with the student and their family; however, Â鶹ɫÇéƬ is aware that assistance beyond the family’s resources sometimes becomes necessary. In cases where financial need for eligible students is documented, Â鶹ɫÇéƬ will assist, to the extent possible, using all available local, state, and federal funds.
Grants
Grants are funds that do not have to be repaid unless, you withdraw from school or owe a refund. All grants are awarded to students with financial need. The amount of some grants depends on the cost of attendance, estimated family contribution or student aid index, enrollment status, and whether you attend a full academic year. There are two types of grants awarded by Â鶹ɫÇéƬ, federal grants and state (Texas) grants.
LEARN MORELoans
Students loans, unlike grants and work-study, are borrowed funds that must be repaid, with interest. Â鶹ɫÇéƬ participates in the Federal Direct Loan Program.
LEARN MOREScholarships
Scholarships are gifts. They don't need to be repaid. There are thousands of them, offered by schools, employers, individuals, private companies, nonprofits, communities, religious groups, and professional and social organizations. Many students need financial assistance and depend on scholarships to assist them with tuition, fees, books, and supplies.
LEARN MOREWork-Study
The purpose of the work-study program is to provide work experience and financial assistance to eligible students. Under this program, a student can work part-time to earn money while enrolled in school.
LEARN MOREWaivers and Exemptions
Texas offers tuition exemption and waiver programs for public colleges and universities, authorized by the Legislature. These programs, both mandatory and optional, target specific populations and apply to formula-funded courses, ensuring financial support for education costs. Formula funding allocates funds among higher education institutions, covering courses beyond student tuition and fees. For more information: http://www.collegeforalltexans.com/
